Allen Frankel began his training at the University of Toronto and attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree in 1984. He completed a Surgical Residency program at Warminster General Hospital, near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, acquiring expertise in Laser and Minimal Incision Surgery (MIS). Allen also participated in the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University Sports Medicine Clinics, where he gained significant experience treating professional athletes.
Allen holds Associate Member status in the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons (ABPS) and the American College of Foot Surgeons (ACFAS). His extensive training and experience make him a leading candidate in minimal incision surgery for the correction of bunions and hammertoes, as well as various open surgical procedures.
He has served on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Podiatric Medical Association and completed a six-year term on the Provincial College Council, chairing the Disciplines Committee and serving as President of the College in his final year. Dr. Ashkan completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Prior to this, he received his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of Toronto. During his undergraduate studies, Dr. Ash was an executive member at Exercise is Medicine, promoting the importance of exercise and physical activity to students and the general population. As a former athlete himself, he understands the challenges athletes experience following an injury. Thus, he values the importance of patient education and injury prevention as fundamental components of his treatment.
