Marco Bandiera completed his Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario in 2021. Prior to his Physiotherapy degree he completed his Kinesiology undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto receiving High Honours status. During his time at UofT, Marco was a member of the Varsity Baseball team and a student trainer for the Men’s Varsity Hockey team.
Marco is knowledgeable in treating athletes, acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, and preoperative and postoperative surgical patients. From his previous experience of being a varsity athlete and his mentorship from leaders in the field of PT, Marco has acquired invaluable clinical skills. He is currently Level 1 certified in manual therapy through the Orthopedic Division with plans to progress through the FCAMPT level systems and attain his Acupuncture & Dry Needling Certification.

Graduated with Honours in Kinesiology in 2003 from York University, followed by a Bachelor in Health Science in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College. As a student therapist she worked with the University of Toronto Football and Basketball teams. She has also worked with the Vancouver Provincial Soccer Team. Katerina graduated from York University with both, Kinesiology and Psychology degrees. During university she worked as a personal trainer and then went on to work as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Katerina decided she wasn’t finished learning and chose to pursue physiotherapy. She received her Masters in Physical Therapy from D’Youville College in New York State and returned to Toronto to start her career. Throughout her career, Katerina has had great mentors and has actively participated in post-graduate education. As a result she has an extensive background in exercise. Jonathan Lockwood, MD, is a Sports Medicine Physician at LiveActive. Dr. Lockwood has
experience in the diagnosis and management of a wide variety of sports-related injuries and in
many types of injection therapies. He has a particular interest in throwing athletes and injuries,
diagnostic ultrasound, and in elite athletes after they retire from sport.
Prior to medicine, Dr. Lockwood had a career as an athlete. He was a professional baseball
player in the Seattle Mariners organization and represented Canada in many international
tournaments, including the World Cup of Baseball and in the Olympic Games. Dr. Lockwood
hopes to apply this experience to treating sports injuries in athletes of all skill levels and to

Dr. Meghan Crookshank is a sport and exercise medicine primary care physician. Prior to attending medical school at the University of Toronto, she enjoyed the world of biological engineering and completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering (University of Guelph), her Master’s of Science in Engineering (Queen’s University), and her PhD at the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto with much of her research focusing on orthopaedic biomechanics and computer-assisted orthopaedic surgery. She then made the shift to medical school and, upon its completion, she completed two years of residency in orthopaedic surgery (University of Toronto) before making the transition to family medicine (University of Toronto) and, finally, completing her fellowship in sport and exercise medicine at the University of Toronto. She has had the pleasure of providing medical coverage for a variety of teams and events through her training, such as with the Varsity Blues football, volleyball, and hockey teams and truly enjoys this aspect of her work. Alex earned his BHSc. Kinesiology from Ontario Tech University as a varsity athlete on the men’s hockey team. As a former student athlete, Alex has a large appreciation for the mental and physical preparation of being a high performance athlete. Struggles with injuries ultimately shortened his playing career and led him to place his passion for sport into injury prevention and rehab. After stepping away from the game in a player capacity, Alex began working with the varsity athletes at OTU as a strength coach and a member of the varsity athletic therapy team; gaining him front-line exposure to sport injury management. His experience as a strength coach alongside his fourth-year athletic therapy placement have given him opportunities in managing the recovery and performance needs of junior, varsity, and professional athletes.
